What Instrument(s) do you play:

Beginner's Sampler

A unique opportunity for beginners to try a variety of instruments, perhaps brush off old, dormant musical skills, and get a feel for the Folk Gathering. These workshops are designed for people with little or no musical background. It'll be an incredible day of being gently introduced to some of the easiest folk instruments available. Instruments will be provided, and classes will be hands-on learning.

You get 4 Try A workshops.

If you have chosen the Registration above, these workshops are already included.

Your registration covers the festival event, but you will need to consider your own lodging.

Greenwood Furnace State Park has camping facilities, and they've set aside a special area for festival participants.

Camping choices are:

(1) tent camping near other Folk Gathering participants and near the workshop activities; showers are a bit of a walk but rest rooms are right nearby or

(2) tent and RV camping in the regular camping area where the general public would camp. Showers are right there but workshops are about a mile away. We anticipate that camping space may fill, so make your reservations when you register.

If you’ll be in a tent, you can call the park directly (814/667-1800) to request a spot in our special area by the workshop activities. Make sure to tell them you are part of the music festival.

In addition, hotels, bed and breakfasts (including the nearby McBurney Manor Bed and Breakfast), and additional camping options can be found near Huntingdon, near Lewistown and in the State College area. Please note that some of the lodging listed on these sites is quite a distance from the park, so be sure to check the distance.
